WaterCare’s pre-engineered line of residential problem water treatment products offers a complete range of sizes and treatment media. All products employ a state of-the-art-lead-free brass motor driven piston control center and come with a fiberglass mineral cylinder. All units automatically backwash and rinse or regenerate on a periodic basis in order to cleanse or recharge the medium. This is normally controlled by a time clock but a water meter to initiate backwash or regeneration is recommended in some cases.

Stratacare - Filter for reduction of fine sediment and turbidity. It offers finer filtration than either sand or Careag filters.

CARECARB “UC” Series

A wide variety of tastes and odors can be reduced with Carecarb. Our water consultants can determine, by actual test, the efficacy of one of these filters on your water. The water’s pH has no effect on performance.

General dechlorination can be effectively done at high flow rates. Good reduction of organics should be done at lower rates and should be tested before making a permanent installation.

The life of Carecarb depends upon the load imposed on it. The filter should be backwashed frequently to keep the bed clean. Sediment can be removed from the bed during backwashing. Other contaminants are not removed and will eventually cause replacement of the medium.

CAREAG - “UA” Series

The lower flow rates required for backwashing allow these filters to be used on water supplies having limited flow rates. This also results in the conservation of water.

The CareAg medium is non-hydrous silicon dioxide. It has an advantage over filter sand in that it has an irregular surface which is excellent for filtration and yet it is light weight, which makes it easy to backwash and clean.

For filtration of particles smaller than 40 micron, a StrataCare filter or cartridge filtration should be considered.

STRATACARE - “SC” Series
» Filter for reduction of fine sediment and turbidity. It offers finer filtration than either sand or CareAg filters.

The unique stratified feature has advantage over conventional filter beds. It is able to contain substantially more sediment before backwashing is necessary. High backwash rates are required to release.

The Stratacare filter bed is layered with the finest layer on the top and the coarsest layer at the bottom. The specific gravity and size of the various layers have been selected so that the layers will always stratify in the same order upon backwashing.

Because of the reverse graduation, filtered matter will not cake but rather be collected throughout the depth of the bed.

SULFACARE - “HS” Series
» For filtration of H2S, Iron, Chloramine and VOC*s from water.

One of the most common applications for Watercare’s Sulfacare is the undesirable taste and rotten egg odor presents in many water supplies. It’s unique reactions also result in the filtration of chloramine, up to 1 ppm iron (Fe+2) and 6 ppm hydrogen sulfide.

The life of SulfaCare depends upon the load imposed on it. The filter should be backwashed frequently to keep the bed clean. Our water consultants can determine, by actual test, the efficacy of one of these filters on your water. Some filtered material will eventually cause replacement of the medium. The water’s pH has no effect on performance.

Along with the sulfides H2S and HS, a wide variety of tastes and odors can be filtered with SulfaCare. SulfaCare has a unique catalytic activity plus the adsorption characteristics of common activated carbon.

CARENEU - “UN” Series
» Filter for neutralization of corrosive, acidic water by neutralizing carbon dioxide it corrects bitter taste and blue-green stains

Reduction in the potential leaching of copper, lead and other metals from plumbing systems can also be achieved in the raising of the pH.

The pH Range Filters work best on water having a pH of 6.1-7. When pH is below 6.1, a chemical feed pump using sodium carbonate, sodium hydroxide, or potassium carbonate is recommended.

Unique Media WaterCare’s uniquely blended neutralizing minerals are self-regulating so that the closer the pH gets to the neutral the more slowly they dissolve.

Maintenance Filter must be backwashed periodically to keep the media loose to prevent pressure drop and channeling. Less frequently (see specifications), it is necessary to replace the dissolved media.

Post Treatment There may be a slight increase in water hardness. In special cases, it may be necessary to follow the acid neutralizer with a water softener.
